💕This is aimed at menstru4ting womxn, and today I wanna talk about NATURAL remedies for period cramps that work ~almost~ INSTANTLY!! This would’ve been in video format but unfortunately I just don’t have the time this week, so please bare with me and all my words! Hehe💕
🥺if you’re like me and suffer from period problems (👋🏼holla if u’ve got endometriosis, PCOS, adhesions, fibroids, hormonal issues, etc.!!👋🏼), you know there’s NOTHING over the counter from the pharmacy that will help you, you NEED to rely on prescription medication (if you can even access it!) for somewhat relief, and then that takes a while to take effect and sometimes you don’t take enough etc etc.... 🥺 WELLLLLL here’s a FEWWWW things that you can do to help your period cramps ASAP!💅🏼
1️⃣ HEATING PAD OR HOT BATH☀️: heat therapy relaxes the muscles of your uterus and allows there to be more bl00d flow (the kind we actually want) and relieve pain through less contraction!
2️⃣ ORGASMS🌀: orgasms involve the rhythmic contraction and relaxation sequence of our uterus, allowing more bl00d flow and releasing “feel-good” hormones and neurotransmitters (NTs) such as oxytocin (the pleasure hormone/NT!) and dopamine (the happy hormone/NT!) to relieve pain! [DISCLAIMER: if you are a womxn in a sexual relationship with a cis male, please use condoms during vaginal sex because DID U KNOW that his cum can actually make your cramps WORSE by increasing your inflammatory response?👿 so just do urself a favor and use protection so that you can actually make ur cramps BETTER and not WORSE]
3️⃣SEX😈: (with other(s) OR solo!) sex helps you (and your partner(s)) to relieve NATURAL pain killers we MAKE in our body called ‘endorphins’! We make these endorphins for many different things, such as when you stub your toe on the chair leg and it hurts like a MF so you “walk it off” until it feels better... nah baby.... endorphins you’re making is what’s making you feel better 😂😂 so get some endorphins flowing and get those cramps GONE!
4️⃣STRETCHING IF YOU CAN HANDLE IT🦋: personally, this one is tough for me when I’m curled up in fet4l position on the floor in tears and agony 🙃 buttttt when I just have mild cramps (which is rare lmao) I loveeee doing some stretching!! Yoga counts too! There’s one stretch I love that takes off the gravitational pressure of my uterus that actually helps my mild cramps pretty fast! Just lie down in front of a wall, and have your legs propped straight up against the wall and your ass hitting the wall as if you were sitting down in an L but turned 90° up 😂😂 just lie there and breathe!!💕
5️⃣CHAMOMILE TEA🌼: so I love this one bc it’s something you’d never expect but actually works! Here’s another vocab word to learn: PROSTAGLANDINS! These little bitches are inflammatory hormones that are made anywhere in the body where there’s tissue damage, infection, or injury (and hellooooo our periods are literally INJURIES LMAO)! Prostaglandins are released in the uterus especially during our periods and cause pain and cramps through muscle contractions, and in our body as a whole they cause nausea, vomiting, headache, and more awful period symptoms 🙃 most of the over the counter pain meds for menstru4l cramps are aimed at inhibiting or slowing down prostaglandin release, but personally I haven’t had much luck! SOMETHING CRAZY THATS HELPED ME is chamomile tea with some honey in it!! Chamomile tea ACTUALLY is a natural way to inhibit prostaglandin release and let ur uterus chillaxxxxxxx a lil so it’s not freaking out and tearing your insides out 😂 this relaxation not only helps pain and cramps, but allows you to 😉FLOW😉 more easily and helps reduce OTHER period symptoms like mentioned above!! Add in a little bit of cinnamon if you’d like to give more anti-inflammatory properties and help with period-bloating!💕
